Off-White Helps Amplify Voices In Milan

Fashion designer Virgil Abloh has launched an initiative to help small Black businesses pull through the Covid-19 pandemic with the ’I Support Young Black Businesses’ fundraiser. With its goal to raise money on a quarterly basis for organizations that support the Black community, for the first installment of this project, Off-White will support underserved neighborhoods in Chicago through CRED — which stands for “Create Real Economic Destiny” — an organization Virgil Abloh has partnered with since 2017 in his home city and is focused on reducing gun violence. Simultaneously, the brand has established a Milanese internship program that begins this September to help amplify the voices of its inspiring Afro-Italian community.

‘In Naples We Don’t Say’ Tik Tok Series

TikToker Miriam Landi is a young Neapolitan college student who creates content in her free time and found one of her series go viral over night. ‘In Naples we don’t say’ is a series of funny videos in which Landi compares untranslatable Neapolitan expressions to English ways of saying. Hand gestures and facial expressions are what makes these videos a whole experience and are the reason why she receives nostalgic comments from Neapolitans who no longer live in the city and appreciate the series.
